How this estimate works

Both modes use the SAME before-tax assumptions. A fixed annual nominal return less percentage fees compounds monthly; contributions arrive at month end. Goal mode inflates today’s goal cost to its future cost, then solves for a monthly contribution. Actual tax and transaction costs can increase the amount you need to save. This is not a tax-efficient investment comparison. Returns can be negative and are not guaranteed. For child goals, these funds remain parent-owned. No capital-gains, benefit or ownership-transfer calculations.
