Further south, D.M. Henderson Park in Macgregor has a large pirate ship playground. It has net climbs, masts, hammocks, a fireman's pole and a flying fox, plus a BMX pump track. In Rochedale, Fischer Family Park has a shaded playground beside a 100-metre walking track.
For nature play, the Karawatha Forest Discovery Centre includes Queensland's first nature play space. It has toilets and barbecues, and the centre opens Tuesday to Sunday, 9am to 4pm. At Larapinta, Warril Parkland has a nature-based playground with water play. You can also walk the lakeside boardwalk and pontoon, and watch for birds.
