Heron Way Reserve holds the City of Marion's regional playground on the Hallett Cove foreshore, looking out over the gulf. Its water and sand play is pump-operated, set among climbing nets, balance beams, a five-way swing, a tunnel slide and nature play, with outdoor fitness equipment nearby. Shade sails, a shelter, barbecues and seating are provided, and there is no charge. Toilets with baby change and wheelchair access stand about 80 metres from the play area, and the Marion Coastal Walking Trail runs past the reserve.
