Every playground we know of across Alice Springs: 29 in 9 suburbs and towns, including Gillen, Braitling, East Side, Araluen, Larapinta, Sadadeen, The Gap, Desert Springs and Mount Johns. 7 have a public toilet within about 400 metres. Tap a pin for what each one has.
In Gillen, the
Newland Park skate and play precinct opened in December 2025, with all-abilities play equipment and a pump track. Braitling's
Grey Park has a playground, a drinking fountain and space for dogs off the lead. In East Side,
Frances Smith Memorial Park has a playground with toilets, parking and a drinking fountain. Araluen's
Frank McEllister Community Park also has toilets, plus disability facilities and a picnic area.
Newland Park also has a skate park, a 3x3 basketball court, a dog park and a barbecue. Its toilets are accessible, and the council says there is plenty of shade. Elsewhere in Gillen,
Spencer Park has a playground, a picnic area and a drinking fountain.
In Sadadeen,
Noonie Park has a playground, a picnic area and a leash-free area for dogs.
Lewis Gilbert Park in Desert Springs is leash-free too, with play equipment and picnic space. Mount Johns'
MacDonnell Park pairs play equipment with a picnic area. Only some parks list a drinking fountain, so carry water on hot days.
