Broadwater Parklands at Southport is the big one. It has three adventure playgrounds, with a spiral tower, a monorail, a pirate ship and a flying fox. The Rockpools water playground and a netted swimming enclosure are right beside them, so bring swimmers.
Water play turns up all over the city. Lorikeet Park has its own water area, a double flying fox, trampolines and a sensory zone for little ones. At Country Paradise Parklands, the playground is wrapped by a creek bed with pumps and troughs to play with.
Older kids who like a challenge can try Buckler Park, where the main climbing frame is reached only by rope nets. In Broadbeach, the all-abilities playground in Pratten Park was the Gold Coast's first.
