Things to do with kids in Adelaide

Adelaide is a compact city, and most family days are less than half an hour's drive away. In the city, Adelaide Zoo, the Botanic Garden and the SA Museum are all close together.
The beaches along Gulf St Vincent are mostly calm. Glenelg has the jetty and a big foreshore playground, Henley has a water feature in the square, and at Semaphore there's an old carousel and a little steam train. Port Adelaide's railway, maritime and aviation museums make a good rainy day.
For playgrounds and bush, try the nest-shaped climbing towers at Cobbler Creek in the north, or the ice-age rocks and rock pools at Hallett Cove in the south. The Adelaide Hills are only twenty minutes away. The area pages below have the full list for each part of the city.
272 family outings, waterfalls and walks across the region, sorted by drive time from Adelaide. Choose your suburb at the top to sort from where you are staying.
