Camping in Adelaide means a caravan park by the beach, in the foothills or close to the city, and none of them is far from the others. In summer the coast is the pull, with patrolled beaches, the long jetty at Semaphore and a bike path that runs along the shore.
Where is the best place to camp in Adelaide?
What is there to do in Adelaide with kids?
In the city, the
Adelaide Zoo, the
Botanic Gardens and the
Australian Space Discovery Centre are close together. At West Beach there is
mini golf near the parks, and the separated bike path, about 72 km of it along the coast, is easy riding for children. Semaphore's jetty dates from 1860 and runs 585 metres out into the gulf, and up in the foothills,
Carrick Hill is a museum house with grounds to explore.

What are the best walks and lookouts in Adelaide?
The foothills behind the city have the best short walks: First Falls and Second Falls sit along the same track, and lookouts such as Light's Vision and Wylie Hill look out over the plains.
Is it safe to swim in Adelaide?
Yes, at the patrolled beaches. West Beach is patrolled by its surf club, and Semaphore's club patrols on summer weekends. Semaphore has low surf, but its offshore sandbars are the main hazard there, so stay near the flags when the club is on duty.
Are there powered sites in Adelaide?
Yes. 7 campgrounds here have powered sites confirmed, including Adelaide Beachfront Tourist Park, Levi Park Caravan Park and Adelaide Showground Caravan Park. For the rest we are still confirming, so check with the park or holiday park before you book a powered site.
Those with the most confirmed facilities first. A missing facility means nobody has confirmed it, not that it is absent.
