Things to do with kids in Bundaberg

If you can time it, come between November and March for the turtles. On ranger-led night tours at Mon Repos, you watch loggerheads come ashore to nest, and later in the season the hatchlings run for the sea. Book ahead and be ready for a long night, as sightings aren't guaranteed. The Turtle Centre is free to visit during the day.
In town, the Botanic Gardens have lakes, boardwalks and a playground, and volunteers run little cane trains on most Sundays and Wednesdays. In the same gardens, Hinkler Hall of Aviation lets kids try glide simulators and sit in a replica of Bert Hinkler's plane.
Bargara is about 15 minutes away, and Kellys Beach is patrolled on weekends and in the school holidays. Toward Childers, Snakes Downunder runs a python show, a koala talk and a croc feed every morning, and kids can hold a python afterwards.
