Things to do with kids in Shepparton & the Goulburn Valley

In Shepparton, the Shepparton Art Museum is free, welcomes prams and has a playground outside. It is a good start to the day, and the cafe does breakfast.
Down near Euroa, Seven Creeks Park has playgrounds and barbecues along a creek with a fish ladder for Murray cod. In the Strathbogie Ranges south of town, the two little Gooram Falls have rock pools to paddle in between them when the creek is low. Nearby, Polly McQuinns Weir spills over big granite boulders, but the pool is deep, so keep little ones close.
Near Nagambie, the old Goulburn Weir holds back Lake Nagambie, and older kids can climb Mount Major near Dookie for a view over the farmland. Tram fans should time a visit to the Tramway Heritage Centre at Bylands, which opens on some Sundays each month.

Watch the water spill at Polly McQuinns
In the Strathbogie Ranges, water spills over big granite boulders and a natural spillway into a deep pool. Locals swim here, but the pool is deep, so keep children within arm's reach. Gooram Falls, a small waterfall, is a short drive away.

Gooram Falls
Picnic between the two Gooram Falls
Two small falls sit about 20 metres apart on Seven Creeks, 20km south of Euroa. Both car parks are about 400 metres from the falls, and the lower one has a drop toilet. When the creek runs low, kids can paddle in the rock pools between the falls; tracks get boggy after rain.
