Things to do with kids in Perth City & Inner Suburbs

Kings Park is the place to start. The Federation Walkway crosses the treetops of the Botanic Garden, and at Naturescape kids take their shoes off and build dams in a creek. Naturescape is closed on Mondays. Catch the ferry from Elizabeth Quay to South Perth and walk up to Perth Zoo; the boat ride is part of the fun.
Kids get into the WA Museum Boola Bardip free. Scitech has a planetarium and a puppet theatre, and afternoons are quieter. At the old fire station, kids can dress up as firefighters and sit in a real fire truck for free. At The Bell Tower, they can ring a bell and get a certificate.
On a hot day, Hyde Park has a water playground and two more playgrounds around the lake. A small mob of kangaroos lives on Heirisson Island in the middle of the Swan River.
85 family outings, waterfalls and walks across the region, sorted by drive time from Perth. Choose your suburb at the top to sort from where you are staying.
